Medical education and training is one of core business of the Council. It assures the public that a doctor whose name appears on the medical register has met appropriate training standards for medical practice in Rwanda.

Before you practice medicine after graduation from medical school, you have to undertake one year internship in designated internship centers. Before you start internship, you will be required to have to get a pre-registration certificate from the council. After successfully completing your internship, you will be fully registered
and licensed to practice medicine in Rwanda.
