I have the distinct pleasure of welcoming you, my colleagues and fellow delegates, to my hometown for the Association of Medical Councils of Africa’s 17th Annual Conference.

Kigali is Rwanda’s capital city. Rwanda is a beautiful country of rolling hills, mountains and grassy lowlands. In French it has been named “Pays des Mille Collines” meaning “Country of a Thousand Hills”.
As the current President of AMCOA, I am proud of our ongoing focus on best practices in medical regulation. This year, we deemed it necessary to focus on areas of Management in Medical Ligation, as a result this was chosen as the theme for the 2013 conference which is taking place Kigali, Hotel des Mille Collines.

These next few days were designed to appeal to all kinds of learners. The program features a combination of presentations from our member countries as well as various interactive break-out sessions. Of course, there will be many opportunities for networking and social interaction.
We have a lot of work to do together, so let’s enjoy this productive time in each other’s company.
