Advanced point-of-care ultrasound applications

Rwanda Medical and Dental Council has approved a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program to improve, renew, and update the skills and ability of all doctors and to ensure that appropriate, high-quality health services are being provided to patients.

With this audience Physicians Ultrasound in Rwanda Education Initiative (PURE) is organizing workshop on “Advanced point-of-care ultrasound applications” the workshop will be conducted from 16th May, 2013 to 17th May, 2013 at CHUK.

At the successful completion of this Training, each trainee should be able to :

1.Understand when to perform point-of-care for the applications listed above
2.Understand how to incorporate the results of their ultrasound in a management plan

Communication/Numeracy/Analytic Techniques/Practical Skills

3.Select the appropriate transducer and machine settings to obtain the point-of-care ultrasound studies listed above
4.Obtain the appropriate images relevant to answering the focused clinical question
5.Adjust machine settings to optimize images
6.Save images or clips, and document ultrasound findings appropriately

The workshop is an accredited CPD activity ; full attendance to the workshop will allow you to earn CPD credits.
