October-November 2021 Peer Review

The Rwanda Medical and Dental Council (Education Committee) in collaboration with HRH Secretariat has planned for a peer review process for candidates with the following Eligibility criteria :

  • Have successfully completed Medicine in a recognized Medical School ;
  • Present academic transcripts ;
  • Present academic degree ;
  • Present Equivalence issued by HEC ;
  • Have passed the RMDC qualifying examination ;
  • Have worked at least one full year (12 consecutive months) in a public hospital in Rwanda ;
  • Have worked for at least 3 months in the four major services : Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics and Gyn Obstetrics ;
  • Not have been involved in any case of malpractice for the last 3 years.

The report shall be submitted to the National Internship Committee for approval and will recommend the eligible candidates to apply for License.

The peer-review will take place in the Hospital where candidates have spent the period of at least 12 months.

The team of Peer reviewers will use the Intern logbook to assess quantitative performance. For each candidate, the team will check the number of Procedures/Cases performed in different departments as well as procedures assisted using a designed tool.
